Dear my baby/babi/mwanawangu,
This post was written with Zachary fast asleep on my left arm on the sofa on the 24th September 2015. We have wanted to share the joyful news that on Wednesday 19th August 2015 at 18:33; our son was born by emergency C-Section at 37 weeks exactly which just made him full term and 3 weeks before his due date on the 9th September as he was too excited to join us. The meanings behind his names are important and were briefly chosen for the reasons below: His name is Zachary Shepherd Chiwara, the name Zachary means “remembered by God” and also to us it means to have faith and hope in God or a supreme being. His middle name is an Old English traditional name which has personal meaning to his Dad and I. To us, It signifies leadership and demonstrates practicality and hopefully inspires qualities of learning to fulfill his dreams and finding strength to accomplish his goals as he grows up.
Our lives have been transformed into the world of parenthood, which at times has been challenging. Adjusting to the lack of continual sleep, but through the tiredness he has made every second worth it. He has given us so much happiness, love and joy which has overwhelmed both of us with so much emotion. After being discharged from hospital after 9 days on the Special Care Baby Unit on Sunday 30th of August. Our priority has been enjoying spending quality time with our little one at home. Seeing all our family and friends sharing in the new arrival to our family has been so amazing to witness! One adventure on the bus to town has taken place and enjoyed many walks in the park and feeding the ducks. Also, we have had a family BBQ at the beach which we are so lucky to live close too! We experienced our first Baby group which he slept the whole way through. Another great occasion which took place in September was my Graduation ceremony – Coming up soon in a blog post!
With love, Mummy and Daddy.
P.S.: Here is to the start of posting more of our families memories together! x
